La Grande Roue de Montréal 2

La Grande Roue de Montréal in Montreal, Canada opened for public September 2017.
2017 is the year of the celebrations around 375 year Montreal, 150 year Canada and 50 year since the world exhibition. It is part of the “Old Port of Montreal” leisure area in downtown Montreal.
The Old Port is a popular destination, hosting for instance the try-outs of the famous Cirque de Soleil as well as the famous Igloo Fest. The wheel site itself incorporates a restaurant and several terraces. The typical photo section and merchandizing shop are also integrated in the wheel deck design. The wheel will be part of a large scale redevelopment project, turning the Old Port even more into a destination.
The wheel is a 60 meter White-series and is with 42 gondolas a “sister” of the Centennial wheel in Chicago, and the Hong Kong Observation wheel.
